The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the disruptive potential of global pandemics on society—including immense loss of life, strained healthcare systems, altered human interactions and behaviors, modified workplaces, and stalled economies. This project focuses on the integration of individual-level health and socioeconomic data and population health models to the larger framework, forming the backbone for understanding the human health impact of pandemics. This will be a collaborative project between Professor Arezoo Ardekani from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Professor Alok Chaturvedi from the School of Management. We are interested in recruiting a motivated junior undergraduate student from Computer Engineering with background/interests in coding, Python, and machine learning. If you are interested please email your resume to professor Ardekani ardekani@purdue.edu. Their program strongly supports increasing diversity, inclusion, and the participation and advancement of women and underrepresented individuals in STEM.
