SURF Nuts and Bolts Event

Engineering Undergraduate Research Office (EURO) at Purdue University will organize the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program in the Summer of 2023. It is a 10-week-long paid research opportunity for undergraduates enrolled in US universities.

To help you prepare a stronger application for the SURF 2023, we are hosting the “SURF Nuts and Bolts” event. As part of the event, two sessions will be organized at the end of November. The in-person session will be held on 29th November, and the Virtual session will be held on 30th November (Zoom Link: https://purdue.link/SURF23NB). Each session will cover the same content. To find out more details, please see the attached flyer or reach out to us at eur@purude.edu.

IE Research Lab Looking For Programmer

The NhanCE research lab (https://engineering.purdue.edu/NHanCE) of IE is recruiting undergraduate programmers to work on lab research projects. Potential tasks including data analytics, machine learning, and interactive software development. We expect the applicants to start in Spring 2023, and work with us for at least one semester (ideally longer).

Students can receive engineering independent research course credits with a course name that reflects the tasks accomplished.

Please refer to the attached flyer for details, and email nhance@purdue.edu for more details.

Spring 2023 UTA Positions Available!

Please consider being a UTA (undergrad teaching assistant) for any course in which you have done well. UTA positions are available for a majority of the ECE courses students take as undergraduate. For many students a big reason for doing this is for the sake of the resume and/or graduate school applications. If a professor gets to know you through your UTA work, he or she can write a stronger and more detailed recommendation than would be otherwise possible.

You may also indicate interest in an ECE shop (EE162) student position on this survey. The pay rate is the same.

Applications will be considered until all positions are filled, but earlier applications will receive more consideration.

The pay rate for incoming UTAs is $12/hour. If this will be your second time as a UTA, $13/hr, third time or more $15/hr.

Please sign into the link here to submit your application: https://engineering.purdue.edu/ECEIL/Lab_Employment/

Thank you all for your time,

Senior Design Q&A Session for Spring 2023

If you are planning to take senior design in the Spring 2023 semester, we will be holding a Q&A session on Wednesday, October 26th, 7-8pm EST via zoom for you to meet the instructors/planners of each course and answer any questions you may have about the course, requirements, or registration process.  Before COVID, the session ran close to 3 hours; however, we have a recording of that session for you to watch ahead of time.  There will not be a full description of each option at the Q&A, so please watch the recording of senior design options on our Registration Info Page (link at the top) before the Q&A session:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uANBstqxtto.  If you will be taking an option that you already know your team members, at least one of you should plan to attend for information:
